How to Identify Laminate Floor Quality?

Laminate wood flooring, a kind of wood flooring, is a kind of flooring that many people like at present, and it is also a more practical kind of flooring. Laminate wood flooring is also called composite flooring, which is generally composed of four layers of materials, namely wear-resistant layer, decorative layer, high-density substrate layer, and balance (moisture-proof) layer.

Due to the limitation of material, solid wood flooring has monotonous design and color, so there is little room for choice. There are as many as 100 types of laminate flooring, giving you a personalized choice. There are many varieties of patterns, which can simulate various natural or artificial patterns.

Fitting laminate flooring has the following advantages, that is, it is very wear-resistant, beautiful in pattern, stable in structure, economical and applicable, does not need to be painted and waxed, has a wide range of use, and is easy to manage. It is the most suitable ground material for the rhythm of modern family life. In addition, quality laminate flooring has a high usage rate of wood, which is a good environmentally friendly material.

The appearance, feel and even sound of laminate flooring sounds like real hardwood. Compared with other wood flooring categories including cherry wood flooring and oak hardwood flooring, laminated wood flooring has advantages in price and cost, which can meet the needs of consumers at different levels to a greater extent. And many laminated products have longer service life and better wear resistance. If you are interested in buying laminate flooring, you might as well learn more about the materials to choose from.

Identify the Quality of Laminate Flooring

Observe the appearance of laminate flooring. Qualified laminate flooring will not have defects such as indentation, penetration, cracking, cracking, delamination, or tongue and corner defects on both sides. There must be no scratches, bulging, bubbling, paper tearing, partial lack of paper, etc. on the front.

Observe the clarity of the pattern. Good quality laminate flooring has clear patterns, natural and smooth patterns, no ghosting and no stains.

Observe the stitching from the seam and the height difference. Take samples at random to try and see if there is any separation of the seams. Use your hand to feel whether there is a significant difference in the feel of the seam. If there is, the quality is poor.

Observe the section. Good quality modern laminate flooring has tight wood section, while poor quality products have loose wood section.

Check the wear layer. Usually, sandpaper can be used to manually sand the floor surface for about 20 times, and observe whether the decorative pattern on the surface is damaged. If so, it indicates that the floor abrasion resistance index must not reach the national standard.

Smell the substrate. There is no irritating nose and eyes odor on the section of good quality products, and it means that the quality is poor.

The above knowledge requires you to understand the knowledge of waterproof laminate wood flooring in advance. If you really don’t have much time to understand these issues, you might as well ask the salesperson the following questions.

You can ask the salesperson about the grade of laminate flooring, whether the material is direct- or high-pressure, confirm that the product has a UV surface, and ask the salesperson what the ISO grade of the product is.
